How can I trust you?

Our pet sitters and dog walkers pass Acutraq background checks and complete extensive training.  As a professional pet sitting company, we are fully insured and bonded thru Pet Care Insurance. We invite you to check out our many online reviews to get a feel for what other client's think about our services.

Do you come to my home?

Yes, we know that pets are most comfortable at home surrounded by familiar scents and sounds.  Our vacation care visits and walks are designed to meet their needs.  Top Tails can feed your pets, walk them in your neighborhood and follow their care routine.  Please note that we do not offer boarding or kennel services.  

Who is going to be caring for my pets?

One of the benefits of hiring Top Tails is that we work as a team.  Consistency is the goal so your pets will be assigned primary sitters who will perform most of scheduled services.  However, in the event that your primary sitters are not available or for an emergency, we may need to send another staff member to ensure your pets have the best care.  A team member will visit with you at the meet and greet and get a feel for your pet's personality and routine.  We will then assign the perfect sitters for your pets.

When and how do I pay?

In order to maintain a smooth and organized schedule for both our clients and our team, we require that all payments be processed prior to the scheduled service start time. We offer secure online payment options on Time to Pet to make this process convenient for you.

What is your cancellation policy?

When we book your services, we reserve exclusive time time for you and your pets and have likely turned away other clients during this time.

Daily Dog Walking - We understand that schedules can shift unexpectedly. To avoid charges, please cancel walks at least 24 hours before the scheduled day. Our dog walkers plan their routes in advance and reserve specific time slots for visits. Short-notice cancellations disrupt scheduling and efficient routing. For cancellations made without 24-hour notice, a 50% charge will apply to ensure our team members are fairly compensated.

Vacation Care Visits - We are committed to providing the best possible care for your pets and ensuring that our scheduling remains efficient and reliable.  Our policy applies to the entire reservation invoice amount. Should you need to cancel vacation care visits, we kindly request that you notify us with at least 48 hours before the scheduled service start time.  Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice before the schedule is set to begin will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the reserved pet sitting fee (a credit for the remaining balance will be given, to be used within 6 months).  Exceptions to this policy including instances such as a family member's passing, medical emergencies or natural disasters.  

Holiday Cancellations - A cancellation for holidays requires at least 7 days notice.  If you cancel with less than 7 days notice you will be required to pay 50% of the fee for your pet sitting reservation.  

Reservations are made to plan our availability to clients. Therefore, we do not offer refunds for early arrivals home.

What about keys?

Top Tails of Greensboro does not hold onto keys.  We can utilize electronic door codes, garage codes or keys from lock boxes that you provide.  Our clients have had good luck with this one from Amazon.

Do you have holiday rates?

We value the hard work and dedication of our team, especially during the holidays.  As such, each visit on the following holidays incur a $10 surcharge: Easter weekend, Memorial Day weekend, July 4th, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.  This premium rate compensates our employees with time-and-a-half rates on these dates.

How far in advance do I need to book?

We recommend booking as soon as you know your plans.  For non-holiday care, requests made at least three weeks in advance for vacation pet sitter care visits and two weeks for dog walker visits can usually be accommodated.  While we will always try to schedule last minute requests, these visits will incur a $5/visit ($10 Holiday) service fee if we are able to find an opening.

New clients can get started here!  Top Tails of Greensboro uses Time to Pet which allows you to communicate, request services and pay invoices all in one place.  After contacting us, we will get back to you shortly to set up a complimentary meet and greet so you can get to know us and we can meet your pets!
